Chaplains are called to reflect Christ and minister to the “least of these”, a calling upon our hearts to minister to the disenfranchised of society.

“for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”
“Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it for one of the least of these, you did not do it for Me, either.’ ”

Matthew 25:35-36, 45 (NRSV)

Chaplains of all religions and faith groups are called to provide loving care to all they encounter, no matter their social or economic status. Instructed to take the initiative to “GO” to those in need and not wait for people to come in search of us! We interact with others in everyday of our lives, so why not use these interactions

Chaplains enter into the world of others, meeting them in their pain, in their sorrow and in their joy. Yes chaplains share the good experiences with those we encounter as well as experiences requiring compassion and agape love.

“I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”

John 13:34
